"Back in the saddle again..."

There's an old adage that after falling off a horse, one should get up and immediately get back on that horse. That may hold true for an equestrian approach to life; but I had reservations that it applied to life in a pulpit ministry.

Two years, however, seems a better time frame to me.
For ministry--not horse riding.

Somebody strum that gee-tar and plunk out a few chords, coz' this gal is back in the, pulpit again.

It is with great pleasure and pride, I can announce that I have been elected the new Pastor at the Spiritual Enrichment Center in Chico, California. And I am particularly proud to be one of the new Hybrid Revs moving across the spiritual platforms from Religious Science International to United Centers for Spiritual Living and back again. Oh, and in my case, throw in the Agape link, too.

The Exciting Game Without Any Rules... is the card game that the ball players play in the movie "Bang The Drum Slowly"--which is one of the movie videos we rented tonight. Don and I chose five movies for the weekend. I was amused by the text description on the back of the video jacket, " a young Robert De Niro( "The Good Shepherd"and "Meet The Parents")... Meet the Parents???? Whatever happened to "Taxi Driver"? "Raging Bull?" and for crying out loud, "The Godfather?" This amazing actor and we have "Meet the Parents?" This 1973 movie was supposed to be one of the baseball classics. I had not seen it since it was first released and Don had never seen it. Whether it was because it is baseball season or because I was in disbelief at how de Niro was being listed, we decided to rent it.
